Welcome to Ravens F/A 18 Mission site. Here over the next months i will be posting missions that i have made, interesting links, pictures and possibly skins. If you were looking for the VMFA-314 Black Knights you have come to the right place however i have discontinued the service and have joined the 331st berserkers. This site will be under construction for a while because i will be creating missions and creating the actual webpages again. Well as most of you know lots of people died today in NY city when hijacked planes crashed into the twin towers making them collapse. On a lighter note its my birthday today (now it will be remembered forever) Cash donations will be accepted in cash and cheque form :). I've nearly made my first mission. It is an airshow mission with a twist. I'll upload it tomorrow or the next day. I got in a bit of trouble yesterday for making fun of another squad publicly. All i was trying to do was get a flight going and i meant no disrespect. After bragging about how good i was and our squad me and 196th_Falcon duelled. I lost (of course)but we had a good larf after all thats what its all about good clean fun.Wednesday 22/8/01
Over the last week i have been away so heres the obligatory sorry. I went to the RAF valley airshow. Most of the billed performances were there except the eurofighter :(. The red arrows were really impressive as was the harrier. No pictures however as my camera is a bit screwed up. Before i went i downloaded the Karelskaya Campaign. I only managed to play the first mission which i failed because my wingmans AMRAAM tracked me and before i knew it i was on my way to a watery grave. Again sorry for lack of updates. I have added some more screenshots to the screenshots page. I nearly messed up my system by trying to overclock my videocard (it nearly fried). If you want to do the same go to Guru3d and download nvmax (only for nvidea video cards. there is a similar program for voodoo cards) ill try and look for memory and cpu overclockers next. Sorry for the lack of updates recently i've been sick with the flu. Lots of thing have happened in the meantime. Fritzdog has got his site transferred to the dogfighter network after a lengthy delay. You can find his new resource center here. Also rudel has created a new asraam missile for F/A 18. you can download the missile here. Although the missile has a few bad thing about it e.g. no flame for the engine, no targeting reticule, you can load it out in the weapons screen it is well worth the download. I have also started creating the pearl harbour mission.sunday 15/7/01
After seeing some screenshots for Falcon 4.0 and its mod's i've decided to buy it. I've been busy over this last week and so haven't started the pearl harbour mission yet. Frugals world is a good simulation site. It has relatively good news and some reviews but its main point is its columns by real fighter pilots and gibs (guy in back!. another name for a RIO or WSO). They tell of lucky scrapes and training flights and days in the life of a fighter pilots written by themselves.Monday 9/7/01
The TSH website was updated with some cool tomcat cockpit shots. I was also experimenting with skins and modifying stuff in the game. Also the furball mission proved to be a failure because you cant padlock any of the aircraft.Thursday 5/7/01
I have nearly created my first mission today. It's a huge furball mission with 8 aircraft all against each other. This is designed for multiplayer only. As soon as i sort out the bugs in it i will post the mission up here. I will make various other multiplayer missions and am also thinking about making a d-day type mission with you flying a CAS mission protecting the marines and also a pearl harbour mission inspired by th motion pic. (btw if you haven't seen it yet go and see it. It is one of the best films i've ever seen IMHO). For this will create a japanese mission i.e. attacking ships and a american one with you fighting off those japanese scum (no offense to any japs).Monday 2/7/01
I saw an airshow yesterday. It was in co. Galway for those who know where that is. It was a fairly good airshow. There was 2 A-10's, 2 F-16's, a US army Chinook and blackhawk helicopters. The star of the show however was the Luftwaffe Tornado's. Man they were LOUD. However it wasn't all good. My camera broke so i had to buy a crappy disposable camera. When i get them developed i will post them up here. Don't expect anything good with the disposable camera i.e. a small dot on a grey background. Also i am re doing my website. Those of you that have visited before knew it was a squad. I have discontinued this and joined the 331st beserkers, who are a european squad. In case you didnt read the intro i will now concentrate on missions etc. The whole site will be bad for a while because of page rebuilding. Found a good replacement for fritzdog's site, while it is down. Rudels Resource center well worth a visit.Wednesday 27/6/01
In a totally non aviation issue a find a cool site. The Spark this is a really good site and is the best i have visited. On it you take tests like the death test (according to it i'm gonna die in 2050) Purity tests, IQ tests (really good ;) and others.Friday 22/6/01

I was looking on the simHQ boards when i saw a good cure for lag. I knew it already but id like to share it. F/A 18 is a cpu intensive game so you have to give it all you have. Windows loads programs without you knowing. To see all these programs press ctrl+alt+del once to see all the programs. All of these take up cpu cycles and RAM that is needed by F/A 18. To disable these on startup go to the start menu then go to run and type in msconfig. When this has loaded click on the startup tab and unclick all the things that you dont want running. However you shouldnt unclick systray or explorer (if its there) or any joystick or mouse programs. Also dont unclick any anti-virus programs you have running. When you have unclicked what you need and dont need press ok to restart your computer. I think this also makes windows run faster. Before you play any multiplayer game unclick the auto-protect on your anti-virus. You should do this because the virus scanner would have to scan every piece of data that you send out for viruses thus slowing the process down and causing lag. This will help reduce or even eliminate lag even if you only have a dial-up account (like me) hope this helps.Thursday 14/6/01

More team superhornet news that I saw on the simHQ message board. Some unofficial stuff from TSH has leaked out to a website. Unfortunately it is in japanese, and learning japanese is not one of my to do things in life. I am waiting for the official stuff which should be along in a couple of days. Nothing really happening in the F/A 18 world, although i heard that the team superhornet will be free. I also found a good link Horus's site . Here you can find loads of skins including skins for a whole carrier (e.g. f/a18, f-14,e-2 s-3, even the carrier itself.).

Added the operations page so now the site (for the moment) is complete. I found out that a team of programmers are trying to hack into the F/A18 code. They have had some success importing objects from F-15 and most excitingly they have made new cockpits for A10's, F-15, F-14's AH-64's :) MI-24's and various others to make them flyable within F/A18. They also have a sound editing program which will let people change sounds i.e. New flyby sounds and maybe even a sonic boom sound. Another one of their aims are to make the frame rate FASTER :). Downloaded evrsoft's 1st page 2000 web page editor.This is the best free webpage editor you can get so i got it :).To put all the news in would take ages so im just starting again. This page will be the only page up for a while till i sort out the bugs and stuff. Hopefully this will solve the picture problem. On Hyper Lobby i had a good 2v2. it was fun and i learned 2 things 1. ALWAYS check yer six and 2. hit the brakes and he'll fly right by ;). I also added a cool feature :)))
Some of you may remember back to a flight sim called strike commander. This particular specimen of flying game introduced me to flying, and in particular combatsims (civilian flying is a waste o time). I played this game at my cousin’s house. I am currently living in Ireland. I like reading Tom Clancy and Dale Brown. I like guns, explosions, cars especially Ferraris (mmmmmm Ferraris) and I am 15 years of age and hate school as most sane people do and I would like to drop a laser-guided bomb through the roof of it (mental note: don’t go typing what you think). I like planes also (as you may have gathered) + I adore brackets (a lot). I like Metallica and Red Hot Chili Peppers as they both rock. I have a PlaystationTM and am currently playing through FF8. Other pc games I have are Rainbow six: Rogue spear and a heap of demos. Other flight Sims I have include Janes usnf 97, hornet 3.0 and if22.
